Bolsonaro arrested after being declared a flight risk
Bolsonaro has been arrested after authorities determined he posed a definite escape threat while under home confinement.
The ex-president was sentenced of planning a armed takeover in September and given more than 27 years in incarceration, but he remained under home detention pending legal challenges.
Top Judicial Official Justice Moraes said the decision to arrest the septuagenarian politician was a safety action after recent developments were revealed.

In a document approving the detention, Justice Moraes said information from the unit overseeing his home detention suggested the one-time head of state's plan to remove the tracking monitor to ensure success in his flight.

His offspring, Flávio, who holds office as a congressional representative, called for a meeting of his backers near Bolsonaro's home to take place on the weekend.

He said the vigil would be so supporters could "pray for his health and for the restoration of democratic rule in our country."

Details of Guilty Verdict
Bolsonaro was determined responsible of heading a plot aimed at keeping him in power after he lost the national vote to his political opponent, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
Supreme Court justices said that he knew of a plot which encompassed plans to kill Lula and his vice-presidential running mate, Geraldo Alckmin, and to imprison and murder the presiding judge - the top judicial official who has been managing his judicial proceedings.
